Since it’s nearing time for the premiere…
I thought I’d post this. Because I’m a terrible human being who wants to watch an entire fandom burst into hysterical tears. This isn’t a spoiler, it’s just me talking out my ass. Still, behind a cut in case I’m secretly Mark Gatiss or something. Who knows anymore?
The Reichenbach Fall will follow as close to Doyle canon as it can while adhering to the modern tenants BBC Sherlock has already established. Sherlock goes over the falls with Moriarty and, of course, doesn’t die. He falls into a coma, the thing any modern show would use when they need a death that isn’t a death. John, however, doesn’t know this. He thinks Sherlock is dead because Mycroft has him almost immediately taken away to receive the best care possible. Moriarty’s body was never recovered and he uses the body bag to throw any enemies Sherlock still has off the scent. He considers John a liability at this point and never considers informing him more than once. And so John Watson sat in 221-B and moped for a really long time and had a lot of heavy sighs and tea that wasn’t as good without all that deducting around. … The end! :D
